Question : Computer boots but video cuts from svideo

Okay so what i mean is that my desktop which has w7 installed, i brought it home today and went to set it up to my tv with a svideo to rca connector and when i go to start a linux live cd or win7 it starts to load but the screen cuts out. Any help? Currently this is my only way to have a screen/moniter..... Any help lease?

Check if the linux boot CD allows you to boot into text mode. With Windows 7 try booting into safe-mode, or low graphics mode if that is available.
