Question : Need to retrieve my office xp key

Hi i have a laptop computer that Office XP is installed on. But it is not booting like it needs to so i have to reinstall windows but i lost my Office XP key and need that before i do so. SO i can reinstall it afterwards.

Now i know there is software such as belarc and so on that can get your windows and office key etc. But the problem is that since i cant boot my OS i cant do this :( is there one that is free that i can use to find the keys from a non windows bootable computer ?

Like perhaps one where i can take my HD to another computer and run that software and point it to my HD ?

Your product key for Office 97, XP, 2003 & 2007 is stored in the registry, so if you still can access the hard drive you can use Magical Jelly Bean to retrieve that key. Magical Jelly Bean (version 2.05 and later) is even able to retrieve keys from a non-bootable hard drive (see item 4 on the link). I have used this approach myself with Windows XP and various versions of Office.
