Question : file rename VBS script

I not good at VB but i need a VB script that will remove the first X about of characters from a file name and then go until it finds a "-"  and drop the rest of the file name for example the

original
MB-12345-9839293092093.pdf
should be
12345.pdf          

the number 12345 could be longer or shorter than 5 characters but will always end in a certian character should as "-"

Does it have to be VB script, or could you use a capable, free program?

I personally use Renamer from http://www.den4b.com/projects.php.
