Question : Calculate Week depending on Payroll or pay perioud

I am going to try and explain this the best way I can.

I have a few attendance apps out in various departments. They all run basically the same way with a few modifications for each department.

What I need to do now is create a view that displays who had time off during a certian pay period. Our company's pay periods are from Saturday to Friday (14 days). For example our last pay period was 7/3 - 7/16 and 7/17 to 7/30.  The managers need to verify the associates time off during the pay period to the time cards.

The database has the following types of time off - Full days out(and it will exclude company holidays and weekends), partial days off, business travel (does not count towards the time back, but we track it).

So. Here is where I am a little lost.  Let me just focus on the week of 7/3 - 7/17.

1. If someone takes a vacation from 7/14 to 7/20, that is between two pay periods. How would I actually parse out the days to identify what weeks the dates in the vacation range happen in. So that it would show they used 24 hours of vacation from 7/14 to y/16 which comes out of the 7/17 paycheck and then they used 16 hours from 7/19 to 7/20 for the 7/30 paycheck.   One note: Full Day requests are always 8 hours. They can split the type of time they use Personal vs. Vacation but it is still only 8 hours. The associates use Partial Day for anything less then 8 hours.

I have tried to use hidden fields to pull the dates apart and then I keep getting lost in a loop over and over while doing this.

2. I get partial time, that is easy since it is only one day on the request, so I can identify the week that date is happening in, but how to do tell the notes app that our weeks are from Saturday to Friday, I think that is not the standard now.

3. Is is possible to display this information in a view that managers can use. Either categorized by week with the pay dates listed after?

I know this is a big request and everyone is really busy, so I apprecaite any help or discussion on this. I have been researching @Explode, @Implode, @Weekday, @BusinessDay and sometimes I think I get close to the answer but not all the way there.

Thanks again for taking the time!

Answer : Calculate Week depending on Payroll or pay perioud

David,

The Exchange option is a licensed option. You would need a key to install it on your Media server. The exchange option is not installed as part of the remote agent.

You need to have the Exchange option licensed and register the license with Symantec so you get the license key. Once you have the key you add it as an option on your Media server by choosing in your Media Server console, 'Tools/Install Options and License keys on this Media Server'

Assuming you do not have a key and depending on how long back you installed BEWS 2010 you may still be able to get the MS Exchange Option to work for a few days in Eval mode. I could be wrong but I think you get to evaluate most options for 30 days or so.
