Question : Word 2007 - Most recent documents

My OS is Win Exp prof and I am using Word 2007.  For no apparent recent, when I open Word, I do not see the list of "Most recent documents", they are blank.  
I tried the solution as in ID: 13407315, but when I follow the steps, after seeing the Windows Components, I do not see the Windows Explorer.  What I see is :
Search
Windows Media player
Windows Update
Can someone please put me back on track;  Thank you.
