Question : Select an enclosed area

Is there a way to select an enclosed area in photoshop and fill it with color?

I attached the .psd  (CS4)

calendar int ribbon

it is the "empty ribbon" that I want to fill with a color (dark blue).

Please reply with steps to do this.  :)

Answer : Select an enclosed area

Here you go. I selected part of the ribbon, chose select- save selection. Then select another part of the ribbon, choose select- navigate to the selection you saved in the last step then choose add to selection. Do this until you have added the 4 parts of the ribbon to the selection. Then choose load selection. add a layer the I went to select, modify and grew the selection 2 px. Paint the selection, and drag the layer to the bottom below the ribbon.
