Question : SSL on Exchange Server 2003

Hi,

I have exchange server 2003 and one domain controller installed.People accessing their emails from internet and DC & Mail server is NATTED in private network(172.16.200.1).

People accssing their emails from internet is http://www.email.mydomain.com/exchange and internal users accessing their emails http://email/exchange and when prompted user name is provided local domain name which is not registed on internet.

My problem is users want to download their emails from internet so i configured the SSL & RPC over HTTP but they can't download..it gives certificate error.

I have diagnoses that and found this happens because of two domains are differnt like my internet domain email.mydomain.com & internal domain url email.internaldomainname.com is differnt.so please duggest me how can i configure my domain or how i can i solve my problem.

Answer : SSL on Exchange Server 2003

Hi GEN,

I thought that the certificate you installed is having problem and you were not having the Certificate Authority Server.

That's why i suggested to use SelfSSL in the First Comment.

After that you said  Created the certificate using the Certificate Authority Server. Then in Second Comment told to Create Certificate using the Certificate Authority Server.

I use Self SSL, as it is simple and it does work.

If RPC Over HTTP is working with Self SSL certificate. You can keep as it and Use RPC Over HTTP.

I think all the Confusion has been cleared.
