Question : How to remove Exchange 2003 mailbox store when decommissioning an old server?

I'm about to return an old leased Dell Server, but first I want to delete the mailbox store.
I have already been running on our new server with Exchange 2007 for two months, and I need no more data from this old server. It is no longer on our network. I just want to scrub it of company information, but leave it in a running state. All of the articles I find on deleting a mbox store are way too involved for what I need. I bet there is an easy way to do what I want. In the Exchange management console, I am told that I do not have permission to delete the store. I've already removed all other company data, users accounts, etc and scrubbed the deleted sectors.

What do the experts suggest?

Answer : How to remove Exchange 2003 mailbox store when decommissioning an old server?

I checked where the database files were and then I stopped all Exchange services, and then deleted all files in the D:\DPrograms\Exchsrvr\mdbdata folder.

This seems to have accomplished my goal.
