Question : Duplicating internal DNS Zones
In creating a DR site, I am mimicking the configuration of our production site over to our DR site.
We have many IIS referals in the production that look for example, mw2p.gg.net
gg.net is a current dns zone internally for our production servers
Is there an issue with recreating that same internal zone on the DR site? Obviously none of our production servers will point to this DR DNS server for referrals, so in theory it should be ok.
I just wanted to get some expert opinions first from here before I recreated the same gg.net DNS zone in the DR site and potentially cause issues.
I hope Ive explained myself.
Answer : Duplicating internal DNS Zones
No problem at all, if clients are not using the DNS server it will never be an issue, if clients were using it and the records were correct that is no issue anyway.
