Question : Specifying Java Version to be used by browser

I am using the following:

Firefox 3.6.6
Windows XP (5.1.2600)

Java in the control panel shows I have the following Java Runtime Versions installed (under the 'User" tab):

I need firefox to use 1.6.0_06, but its currently using 1.6.0_20.

Could anyone help with how to force 1.6.0)06 to be used?  I think last time I did it via the command line, but cant remember how.

Thanks in advance.

Answer : Specifying Java Version to be used by browser

start menu -> control panel -> add or remove programs -> ensure "show update" is checked at top center of window. locate "Java(TM) Update 20" and select remove.

If you do not have the earlier versions of Java installed you will have to go to their website, and get it.

When a Java tries to update a little orange icon will appear on your toolbar near the clock.  Right click on it, and you should be able to find outupdate options there.

Use this link to get whatever version of Java you need...if necessary:

Hope that helps
