Question : VMware backup: VDR? Veeam? or vRanger?
Scenario: New HP ML350 (with a BWW and RW cache enabled) running vSphere Essentials running 1 2008 Std w/Exchange 2007 guest. Tried using Symantec BE w/VM agent to an iSCSI NAS, but Symantec takes far too long for it's processes (although the transfer to NAS if fast enough, after the 2.5 hours Symantec takes to do whatever it does...).
I would like to propose an alternate solution of upgrading to Essentials Plus and using VDR, Veeam, or vRanger. I have heard VDR is a bit unstable, and mixed about the others. Bottom line is we need a solution that will backup the VM in about 4 hours or less and the same if a restore is needed, to a new box.
Thoughts?

I use Veeam and am quite pleased. If you do upgrade, you can download, install, and trial Veeam Backup/Replication for 30 days. It's easy to setup, install, & use and support is pretty good if you need it.
