I have a Dell GX280 that today on bootup gave a blue screen, then would not bootup at all. So I blew the case out and reset the ram. It would come to the Dell splash screen and continue to an error message about cannot boot to partition. It is running Windows XP home and a Seagate Sata drive. I tried to run UBCD drive diagnostics, but it freezes on setup. I disconnected everything except RAM, PWR Sup, and video. It would boot to the spalsh screen and then say it cannot find the hard drive.
Every time i would shut down the computer and reboot it within 10-15 secs, the fans would run, but no post beep and nothing on screen. Then I wait about a minute and then reboot and I get the splash screen but not much further. I went into BIOS to see if anything unusual, but there wasn't anything. I reset the processor, I used a new power supply same thing, it would boot then stop because of an error, or just freeze. I would try to restart immediately, but just the fans would start. I would wait about 1 min and it would start but again just go so far and stop. No bulging caps either. ANy ideas?
