Backups are partially failing nightly at 8:30pm on a SBS 2003 SP2 server with all updates installed. I get this error below:
Warning: Unable to open "D:\" - skipped.
Reason: The system cannot find the path specified.
Searching for this error pointed me here:
http://us.generation-nt.com/ntbackup-fails-see-local-drive-help-70675592.html
It sugests creating a batch file that runs NTBackup to check for permission errors, but I'm not sure how to read the output.
Here's the batch file:
1:
2:
3:
4:
5:
6:
7:
8:
9:
| @echo off
echo %date% %time% Start of task > c:\test.log
echo User=%UserName%, Path=%path% >> c:\test.log
dir d:\ 1>>c:\test.log 2>c:\test.err
md d:\Test 1>>c:\test.log 2>>c:\test.err
echo %date% %time% 1>d:\Test\WriteTest.txt 2>>c:\test.err
%SystemRoot%\system32tbackup.exe /.. /.. /.. 1>>c:\test.log
2>>c:\test.err
echo %date% %time% End of task >> c:\test.log
|
This is the output I get:

Can someone interpret this & tell me if permissions are set correctly?
I've checked the event logs but don't see any specific error. The only anomaly I see is in the backup log with the error above.
Thanks.
