Question : ESXI error ---  Failed  to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported and/or invalid  disk type 7

Im quite new the the Vmwares ESXI  (free version) and have tried to run a VM but keep receiving the following errors:

Message from ESXHost.blahblah.co.uk: Failed
to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported and/or invalid
disk type 7.  Did you forget to import the disk
first?Unable to create virtual SCSI device for scsi0

Its a Windows XP VM which works fine in Virtual Server 2.  I copied the hard drives from Virtual Server 2.0 store to the ESXI store using veeam backup and fast FCP.  Then i selected the hard drive (Vmdk file) when setting up a new VM using the v spear client.

Answer : ESXI error ---  Failed  to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported and/or invalid  disk type 7

Actually, you need to do a 'conversion' which is simple. Just install vCenter Converter on your workstation then convert the Server VM to ESXi.
