Question : Multiple hostnames/domain names for single SSL Certificate

Hi Guys,

I have a new SBS setup with a purchased certificate for mail.mydomain.com.au which services OWA & RWW

If i want to add things say autodiscover.mydomain.com.au or mydomain.local to the certificate to save it popping up and telling me its for a different address, how do I go about this?

Cheers

Answer : Multiple hostnames/domain names for single SSL Certificate

Unfortunately not.

Because the SSL traffic is encrypted you are limited to one SSL Cert per IP address the web server is listening to on port 443. Therefore the SSL Cert that is served up on port 443 must contain within it all the names needed.

Applying a new cert to the exchange server is a really quick process. Now that you have done it once it should be easy the second time. Or was the "Hell and back" getting approval to buy it?

godaddy sell UCC Certificates very cheaply
