Question : How to add a windows DNS record for a website

Hi,

I configured my outlook client to point too mail.mycompany.com and it works great when I'm outsude the company firewall. But when I'm inside the company firewall I need to have mail.mycompany.com point to the internal email IP. How do  I setup a record in Windows DNS 2003 so anyone on the inside using outlook "mail.mycompany.com" still works?

Hi Tech Me More,

Add a new Forward Lookup zone for mycompany.com in the DNS.
then add a new host record for Mail pointing to the static IP of the Mail server
