Question : How do I make Link Child work with a multi table subform record source?

I have an access adp with a form and subform.  It uses Link Child/Master with a single sql server query as the subform recordsource.... it works fine.

When I change the sql server subform query to a multi table query, the query works but the Child/Master connection breaks.

What do I have to do to establish the Link with a multi table subform query?

I have never found a solution to that. I did try using filters to manage parent/chld relationships but that became a real nightmare to manage. Fortunately, the natural order of the records I have needed this for was sufficient (usually based of a PK)
