Question : parser errors for dot net apps on the public web server but not in development
Hi,
Suddenly this week I'm getting dot net parser errors (Could not load type 'Purchasing.Global') on our public windows 2003 web server but they work fine on my development machines (XP and 2000 server). Prior to the problem surfacing, I added a custom error page for 404 errors to the default website, something I hadn't done before (it came up with a message about changing the UNCpassword property for the child nodes). It first happened with an application where I made a truly trivial code change and then copied the dll to the application's bin folder on the web server. I was able to get the app to work by copying over the dll from a backup, but now that doesn't work anymore after I tried some other "solutions" that I googled. I also created a very simple app that displays a short message on the page - same thing happens. I copied a dll for another existing app from a backup folder to the web server - same date/time stamp as the dll that was already there - and that made the app stop working with the same error. Please help! The apps were all developed with VS 2002 and are running on framework 1.1.4322.2407 IIS 6.0 on the public web server.
Thanks in advance!
