Question : Configuring TSL on Exchange Server 2003

Hi,
I have to activate TLS on Exchange 2003 between us and one specific compagny. Actually because we have a mail filter so I have a STMP connector which forward all emails to smart host servers. The SSL cert is installed on front-end server.
I have few questions:
1- Where certificate should be installed? Should I install also SSL cert on the Default SMTP Virtual Serveur even if is already installed on front-end server?
2- Do I need to modify something on the current SMTP Connector which forward everything to smart host servers?
