Question : GIF Animation frame inspection and extraction

On a PC, I'd use Macromedia Flash to inspect an animated GIF file and extract each frame. But, now I only have a MAC.

Is there a free DL for an app that can extract each frame of a short animated GIF to a single still file?

Or, is there an app already on my Mac that could do this? Preview can show each frame of an animated GIF, but once I select the frame, I can only copy it, not save it. If I save it, it doesn't do a single frame. I can App-C copy the frame's image, but don't know how/where to paste and save it
