Question : Extremely slow access to Redirected Folders in SBS2008 with XP Pro clients

I have a new installation of SBS 2008 with all XP Pro SP3 clients. The clients were on an SBS2003 domain. I removed all PCs from old domain (joined workgroup) and created new users in SBS2008 and joined new domain via http:\\connect. Used wizards for everything. No errors encountered.
Setup folder redirection for all users. Some work fine, but others experience agonizing slowness (ie, it would take 20 minutes to move a measly 10MB of data from their redirected desktop to another folder on the server). Since both files are sitting on the same server it should be prectically instantaneous!

If the same user accesses files on a second 2003 Standard Server, which is a domain member file server, everything works fine.

No clues in event viewer on Server or PC.

Any ideas what would cause this or where to look for answers??

Answer : Extremely slow access to Redirected Folders in SBS2008 with XP Pro clients

Sorry for the delay in responding. What actually caused the issue was having the network cable pass through the surge protection ports of a Belkin Battery Backup. Once I plugged the network cable directly into the NIC on the server the latency disappeared.

Guess I'll never use the network surge protection ports on a battery backup again...
