Question : Network / Internet issues

Hello,

Here's the beef: I have a pc that is able to connect to the network but not able to get beyond the dsl modem for internet access.
I have verified the condition with 2 new NIC cards and on 2 separate DSL modem connections as well.
I have run the winsock fix to repair the tcp/ip..but no luck. It is like an invisible firewall. The conditions I have noted are as follows:
The windows firewall always turns off on reboot.
I can directly access the Speedstream DSL modem.
I have removed Explorer 8 and reverted to 7 .
I ran the Winsock tcp/ip repair tool.
I have ran a Norton remova tool removing trace elements of the old program.

 Got any suggestions for me??

 Thank you!

Ok...I know you reset your Winsock but would you mind using this:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

Scroll down to the the big "Fix It" button and let Microsoft reset your IP stack for you....
After this, if it still does not work, I'm almost as a loss.... intrigued, but not sure what else can be done...

Let me know...

Thanks..
