Question : How to Use Abandoned Local Profile From Different Domain
Old Operating System/Domain: Windows 200 Server
New Operating System/Domain Windows 2008 SBS
Client Computer: Windows 2000
Recently we upgraded from a windows 2000 Server network to a Windows 2008 Small Business Network; since we only had 12 users no data was being stored in the users profile (So we thought) we did not migrate, we merely created new accounts and joined the workstations to the new domain. Unfortunately, we overlook an old machine that is still being used, and it has a user profile with important documents, email and application settings. We tried to copy the now abandoned profile,(which is now displayed as “unknown”) to a new profile in the profile section of “My Computer” properties but the “Copy To” button is grayed out when we select the Unknown profile.
Any help will be GREATELY appreciated.
