Question : iPad Camera Connection Kit does not display .jpg images on iPad

Using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit with SanDisk 2 Gb memory card, after inserting memory card + connector in iPad slot, image placeholders are displayed, not the actual images. This memory card had 42 files @ 70Mb. Images are all .jpg. Power down/up does not help.

Using another memory card with 111 files (images) @ 299Mb, image placeholders are displayed for the top of the screen (landscape orientation); scrolling down displays aprox. 40% of images at bottom of screen.

Select/Deselect had no effect on placeholder. Images display OK on WIN7 Pro PC.

Why does this happen? How do I view images?

Is there anything special about these images - resolution, tag information, etc that could be screwing it up compared to the card that's working?  Were both cards used on the same camera?  Are both cards formatted the same?
