Question : Fast download/upload, slow surfing

Hi

At home I have a 2mbps cable internet connection. I have good download/upload speed for files, and in tests I can reach high speeds too. However, web surfing is extremely slow, just as with my old 56kbps modem: web pages take a long time to load, watching youtube is impossible.

I have done a clean Windows installation afraid of some malware and the problem continues, I have tested other computers at home and is the same, both in IE and Firefox, I have changed my dns configuration to link at google's dns and still no luck.

Do you have any suggestion for this problem?

It's not malware/spyware because you already reinstalled your OS. You say that speed tests give you good results and that YouTube is unwatchable. Sounds like your ISP is traffic shaping your line. That can happen for a number of reasons - one of them can be that you are a heavy user and download torrents all the time so they put you in their group of people where your traffic is restricted to save them bandwidth. Tiscali (UK's ISP) does that all the time .

Give them a call and see what they say - ask them if they are traffic shaping and throttling bandwidth for certain websites
