Question : Network monitoring tools

I am looking for something that will monitor my networks and notify me where there are issues such as slow internet, computers crashing, down time ect.

I have a large area to cover with a lot of computers and a very small IT staff.
Is there something with remote features so I can keep an eye on my far away communities and help pin point issues faster so I can then create a dispatch ticket.

Any good ideas, hardware, software ect

centreon (www.centreon.com)  is the cream over nagios and is pretty complete, but not sure it does all you want.

For monitoring it is perfert but for your "something with remote features" need I'm not sure what you want by this.

Can you be more precise on this ?

www.zenoss.com has a free version of its product,  which is a snmp monitoring tool, a little complicated to setup intitialy but very complete.
