Question : Missing security tab on network shares from NetApp FAS 2020

I have a NetApp FAS202 file server joined to a windows domain and am sharing a directory structure via CIFS which is set to allow "everyone" full access to the share. When I browse (\\fileserver\share) or mount the share to a windows machine (Win2K3, WinXP, Vista, Win7) and go to the properties of a directory or file on the share. I don't get a security tab.

I'm trying to set ownership/permissions on directory structures on the share for specific windows domain users/groups.

Users can browse and view the files under the share, but can't create new files or edit existing files.

I'm assuming I've set up the NetApp incorrectly but it's not obvious to me.

Help!

Thanks,

Make sure the qtree protocol is set to NTFS and not UNIX or Multiprotocol. If you need to support the UNIX method of security on files and folders, the multiprotocol option will let you do this but bear in mind that the security is set at creation time so if a UNIX machine creates a file, you cannot use NTFS permissions on it and vice-versa.
