Question : Long CAT6 cable problem ?

We have our offices separated to 3 different level in a building (6, 10) and we would like them all to be connected to server room in Level 10, using a new internet line on level 10.

We ran CAT6 cable all the way from level 6 to level 10 (about 50m total length), connecting a router on level 6 to the main Modem Router on Level 10 for internet services. Pinging the modem from level 6 results in very good response time (all <1ms). However, during the day, we intermittently lost internet connection a few times, which recovered within a few seconds.

My concern is: is this cabling issue, is this a cable length issue ? It never occurred I was there.

Later on we are going to deploy the main server on Level 10 and will connect all PCs of 2 levels and I am worried about the stability of the connection.
Please advise

Answer : Long CAT6 cable problem ?

If the cable length is under 100 Meters, you should be fine.  Check the termination points for poor connections and test connectivity from both floors (so you see if the cable really is causing a problem or not).  I would find it doubtful it's a cable issue and it's probably something you need to contact Level 10 about.  (Additional testing - setup a home PC with a ping to both your office and to another public IP.  If your office is intermittent from home but the other IP (say www.google.com) isn't, then you know its a level 10 issue.
