Question : Determine which computer is taking all the bandwidth?

I have a lan that is sitting behind a T1 line connected to the internet. There are about 100 devices in this lan all sharing this connection. I am having a problem where one device is taking up all of the bandwidth and I'd like to find out which device is responsible. How can I do this?

Answer : Determine which computer is taking all the bandwidth?

If the router connected to the T1 supports netflow, you can set up a Netflow program on a server or desktop to receive stats from the router. There are several free programs out there: Scrutinizer and SolarWinds are 2 that come to the top of my head. Google "free netflow" and you'll have plenty of luck.

The benefit of Netflow is that you can see what port the traffic is using. It may point to web traffic, video, or peer2peer. It is also real-time
