Question : What causes new Windows 7 computer to have expired activation?

We are a small computer sales and service shop.  We just built several brand new desk top computers with Windows 7.  All parts and OS are brand new from our distributor.

The customer just called and said 2 of the computers say "Need to activate Windows.  The activation period has expired.  This copy of Windows in not genuie."

Of course the Windows 7 is genuine and we did activate it.  Any ideas on what causes this error?

That is a system builder install so you are good.  If the machines did not register properly and are not connected to the internet you will have actication issues.  connect them and attempt to re-register.  Good Luck.
