Question : storage of data file when exchange is hosted

Currently using a hosted exchange service.

we use outlook 2007 as our mail client.

I understand that our mail is hosted on the hosted exchange service, but what is the best way about doing a backup of mail directly form the client pc?

They will provide backup for about extra $3 per mailbox.

I am not sure if you can do backup directly from client-pc, because backup is a server-side operation on Exchange. It doesnt work on Outlook.
So Rackspace guys will have to do this.
