Question : Outook 2003 not sending on new laptop with System 7
I have new HP laptop with System 7 pre-installed. Currently use a POP3 account with cox.net. Installed Outlook 2003. Started Outlook 2003 and started configuration of email account. Upon completion clicked on the "Test Account Setting" button. Here's the strange thing...I get all green checks execpt the 4th one (Log into incoming mail server (POP3)" which eventually times-out and then displays the typical "login" screen (I guess it assumes that you entered the wrong password or user ID). In any event to be sure the user ID and password was correct, I logged into cox.net and entered my user name and password and was able to see my mail on Cox's server.
Back to Outlook again...opened Outlook, made sure user name and password was correct then pushed send/receive but I still do NOT receive email. I can send just fine. Then on the phone with Cox tech support which was little or no help as they said if I could log into Cox's email server via cox.net without a problem and send/receive email then Cox was NOT the issue. They, Cox tech support, says that they have this is issue before...I said great what's the solution and he said, "don't know"...So around and around I go... and here I am hoping you can help me. Thanks in advance for your help. FYI--I have googled this issue without much success...hopfully you can help me.
