Question : Word for Mac (Office-X) LONG startup time

My Word for Mac suddenly stopped working. What happens is, when I open Word, it shows the Word Logo dialog box, then hangs for 2-3 MINUTES. When Word is finished loading, it works fine. Note that I am not trying to launch Word by opening a document ... just trying to start-up Word from the "W" icon.

Any ideas?
