Question : Windows server 2003 ent domain policy on windows 7 clients

Hi there,
I had all my clients windows xp prof and I had a group policy where they were unable to see the properties of the NIC cards.  Recently I switched to windows 7 and the clients are able to see the properties of the NIC cards.  I checked on the clients all other portions of the policy apply very well except they can see the properties of NIC.  What needs to be changed in the group policy so that my windows 7 clients are forbidden to see/change NIC cards properties.
Help plz!

Answer : Windows server 2003 ent domain policy on windows 7 clients

The problem is the policies you are using are pre windows 7, some of the configuration items still work, but some dont. The easiest way (imo - there are multiple ways) would be to make a windows 7 policy and filter it ( using WMI) so its scoped to only windows 7 clients.

to do this, get a windows 7 machine with the remote admin tools, and edit a new policy, apply it to the OU containing machines or users and use a filter for windows 7. That way you can be sure to have a policy applied that designed for the windows 7 machines.

As i said, different ways of doing it but thats how i'd manage it.
