I am new to the VM world, but I am getting my feet wet so to speak, what I do know is that VM is price pointed out of my typical clients budget.
I am looking for a backup program if it exist, that will create a VM file from a server that does not have VmWare installed on it, that could if needed be restored to a VM server?
I am an IT provider for very small 3 - 15 user systems, so budget is alway an issue! My plan if the above exist, I could stock multiable servers with VmWare installed, and if a system crashed, then we would only need to mount the VM file and the facilty would be back in business and not have to be at the mercy of hardware vendors and time to restore the system.
I hope this makes sense, thank you Experts.
