Question : Windows 7 unable to access network  shares error code 0x800704cf

Strangest thing, user had no issues before a few days ago. error code 0x800704cf

I have reset everthing...

Please help! banging my head against the wall for an hour now (its starting to hurt)

I can bing the server by name and by IP address.

so i am not sure whats going on here.

Hello !

Have you tried reinstalling "File and Print Services" ? Reboot afterward and test.

If it doesn't work, go to Device Manager, click view -> show hidden devices. Then open Network Adapters and delete everything that can be (some can't... but it's not an issue). When done, click "Scan for new devices" and reinstall all that's detected. Reboot and test.
