Question : can't deploy symantec endpoint client through the manager
hello experts,
I've installed the Symantec Endpoint protection manager on this new server. The plan is to migrate all the old symantec clients to new endpoint clients. But first I've tried to test it with a single client. I logged in to the manager and choosed for "search unmanaged clients". I then selected for example pc "knbws036" and tried to deploy my earlier made clientpackage. But unfortunately it gave me the deployment status "failed". I have an ISA 2004 firewall but I don't that's the problem. I can ping the client and I can also deploy the client package when I manually start the "clientremote" application in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\bin\ folder. But when I try to do it manually i can choose for manage or unmanaged. Ofcourse I choose for managed. But I can't fill in the adress of the server somewhere. I assume that during the process of creating the package the serveradress is added. When I choose finish the package is deployed and the client installed. But the client doesn't report itself by the management server. Can you please give me some further advise. I don't what to do next. I can't just walk through the office to install the clients manually.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Kind regards,
Len
Answer : can't deploy symantec endpoint client through the manager
try to install all the 60 clients with symantec Manager.
only a few will have this problem...rest all will be installed correctly..
for the failed clients you have to do as said above..
this is the solution so far given by Symantec.
