Question : Remoting into Windows 7 box, can't print locally.
Windows 7 box = computer 1
Local Windows XP machine = computer 2
When I use computer 2 to remote desktop (yes, printers is checked off in the local resources section of remote desktop) into computer 1 I am unable to find my printer listed. The only one I see is the "XPS printer (redirect)".
The local printer is definitely configured properly. The only thing that's changed recently is computer 1 used to be a windows xp machine, the machine was replaced with a new computer with windows 7.
What gives?
Answer : Remoting into Windows 7 box, can't print locally.
Make sure the driver is the same on both ends. Some printers have different drivers for diff OS.
