Question : Citrix XenApp 5 Installation General Question
I would like to know if it is possible to install the Citrix XenApp 5.0 for Windows Server 2003 in a stand alone environment? We are evaluating the software for our company and was able to successfully setup the latest trial of XenDesktop and XenApp 6 on a Server 2008 deployment, but our HIS software requires 2003 OS. I have since then reformatted the servers and installed the Citrix License manager, Citrix XenApp management consoles and Desktop Delivery Console on a Single Server box that is now running Server 2003 R2. My problem is that the Desktop Delivery Controller runs the discovery but does not show the XenApp controller, and I am able to access the Citrix Logon Page on the server itself, but the authentication fails. I am unclear if this is even an acceptable configuration or if I need to split the services to multiple servers. I do have XenCenter 5 installed running a few virtual servers that I can use if I need to split things up a bit. I was also unsure if XenApp would require the installlation of XenDesktop to help stream the applications.
