Question : system info via website

I need to program a site that pulls the system info and dumps that into a database on my web server. Ideally I like the end user to go to an intranet site and hit go to keep it simple. Is there any source out there? and is it possible for an web app to pull this info computer name, ram, ..MSINFO32 stuff
