Question : Count number of occurances in a string

I have a list of IP Addresses like 123.2.3 and 22.3.2.5

For some reason some of the ip's are missing the .0 at the end.

So I simply want to have a formula that tells me how many "." are in the text and record that number in the next column.

Answer : Count number of occurances in a string

Several ways, you can give them the "add workstations to domain" right using a group policy

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc780195(WS.10).aspx

You can also use the delegation control wizard

John covers both methods here:

http://www.windowsitpro.com/article/domains2/jsi-tip-8144-how-can-i-allow-an-ordinary-user-to-add-a-computer-to-a-domain-.aspx

I've seen both methods used...where I am right now we use method 1

Thanks

Mike
