Question : Which Controller for 4 HD, RAID 1 mirrored drives?

I currently have a Dell Poweredge 2800 with 2 pairs of hard drives configured with RAID 1 mirrored drives. Forgive me for my ignorance in asking this question I'm sure it will elicit a few eye rolls, haha.

I want RAID 1 on 4 drives and this is not an option they offer, so am I calling it the wrong thing, what is RAID 10? Any guidance so I can buy the right equipment for the job is greatly appreciated!

RAID 1 mirroring is supported on all current Dell RAID controllers.

RAID 10 is when you mirror pairs of drives and then create a stripe without parity across the mirrors.

So if you had 6 drives, you would create 3 mirrors and then a RAID0 stripe across the 3 mirrors.

Gives you the best of both worlds, faster reads and writes with some redundancy.
