Question : Porting IP Range when changing ISP

Hi,

Is it possible to bring your IP range with you when moving to a new ISP?

We have a block of 16 addresses (/28).

Does anyone know if this is possible or does it depend solely on the ISP?

Thanks,

Answer : Porting IP Range when changing ISP

Actually it depends on whether ghe addresses are PI (provider independent) or PA (provider assigned). PI addresses are yours while PA addresses stays with the ISP. Ownership of ip addressable can be seen in the wagons-database for either RIPE, ARIN or APNIC (google!).

If you are unsure or if your organization is small, the addressable are probably PA and can't be transferred to another ISP.
