Question : Allow odbc connection to MySQL

Hi, I'm not that familiar with Linux and i have a MySQL database sitting on Linux. When i try to connect my ODBC connector i get the following error:

......Host is not allowed to connect to this mySQL server.

I there a command(s) i need to run to allow an ODBC connection?
