Question : add name to combo box on form

hello,
when open database a form opens.
the first combo box ( cboCompany) - if you try to add new record and enter a new company name - a msgbox will come up and ask 'the company of "" is not in list.Add It?
I use this in another database I have and it works.
On this form msgbox comes up like it will work- then when I click 'yes'
the debugger takes me to:
rstcboCompany![cboCompany]=NewData
saying 'item not found in collection'
Can you see what i am doing wrong?
