Question : DFS Namespace Replication Issue
We have configured DFS replication across numerous sites for a particular customer and it is all working fine. We recently had to configure a new server for a branch office. All server are windows server 2003 r2. The issue we have with the branch server is that the namespace has not replicated although all settings appear to be correct, the data has replicated and can be accessed via a unc path but we need to be able to access this from the namespace. If we remove the new server from namespace replication will this cause or have an effect on the replicated data already on the new server.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Answer : DFS Namespace Replication Issue
Removing a server from a namespace or a DFS replication does not delete the data from the server. It is a manual process. In fact when removing the server, you will be prompted with an informational box stating that.
