DNS is generally really easy if you're using AD Integrated zones and the new system is destined to be a DC. Essentially all you need do is promote it and install the DNS server.
There aren't a large number of other settings you'd need, Forwarders perhaps. Unless you're using your DNS server for things other than AD?
