Question : What hardware specs are your SCCM 2007 Servers running?

Hi, I am preparing to purchase a new server for our System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 and was wondering what hardware specs should I be aiming for?  Especially the HDD setup.

I am planning to offload the SQL database to another server that will only be handling SQL tasks.

Also, I am planning to install System Center Operation Manager 2007 R2 on this same server with SCCM.

Oh, one last thing, I would like to run in on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box, which I know needs to be 64-bit.

With this in mind, what should I be aiming for hardware wise?

Thanks in advance.

Bob

Answer : What hardware specs are your SCCM 2007 Servers running?

Hello Bob!

MS requirements for SC ConfigMgr and OpsMgr are listed here:

ConfigMgr site server:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd547071.aspx

OpsMgr (about half way down page):
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb309428.aspx

I would just make sure the server at a minimum achieves the listed requirements for both - obviously considering the disk space for ConfigMgr packages and/or OpsMgr specific file/logs.

/cheers
