Question : Need to narrate powerpoint slides

I have a professor who wishes to narrate his voice onto power point slides.   I suggested the built in narration feature, to which he replied:

The separable quality of video from audio, in order to store, carry, and review the audio in separate MP3 fashion is one additional requirement. The other is the means to have one continuous audio file, versus obligated blurbs stuck to individual slides. .

Any ideas on how this can be done (less expensive  is better)

Well, there is nothing in that log indicating that its "Bypassing to Microsoft" for updates. Are any of the client machines imaged?
