Question : How should I build some records based on the index of another table?

I'm writing a smal database fixl program which will loop through a main table (pads) to create records in a new table (paddomains).

There needs to be one record in the paddomains table for each pad record. The key of pads table is padid which also exists as a foreign key in the paddomains table.

So I need to loop through the pads table and read other fields to create the record in the paddomains table.

The program will need to run a few times. So I need some way of keeping track of which records I've already added.

What sql should I use?

That's good stuff!  I'd agree that no errors during the lock up of carbonite says alot.  AV is always something to look at, but it's just not the invasive trouble maker it once was, so I don't often make that my top 5 to look at if I don't forget it all together.  Have my fingers crossed.
